Mike “moose” Mussina Retires.

Moose Retires after 20 win season: Mike Mussina retired on wensday after having his best season ever. This man is a bonified hall of famer to me retiring with 270 wins and should be put in the hall as a Yankee. I will miss the “mooooose” chants and the humped over moose striking out Red Sox hitters and other formable foes. Heres to you Mr. Mussina….MOOOOOOOOOOOSE.

Dempster signs new deal with cubs/Mariners get new Mgr.

Dempster signs 4 year $52 Million with Cubs Not only do I like Dempster I feel he is going to be great over the next four years and will continue his domiance on the N.L central. I also love that glove twitch.The Cubs will have a nasty rotation with Harden, Lilly and Zambrano to go along with Dempster.

 

 Mariners pick Wakamatsu: Seattle brought in the first Asain-american coach in MLB history, not only will this not help the Mariners they will still finish last in the A.L west. They need more offense to make it to October or they will continue to be bottom feeders.

Yankees turn eyes on Burnett.

The New York Post reported that The Yankees are preparing to make Burnett an offer of 5 years around $80 million.Burnett was solid last year winning 18 games and striking out 231 batters.I personaly would rather have the Yankees get Derek Lowe than Burnett because Burnett will cost more and has problems keeping healthy and we all know the Yankees cant afford to get another Carl Pavano.I also did happen to watch Burnett destroy the Yankees.In his last three starts against the bombers he recorded 34 strikeouts over 24 innings and posted a 2-0 record with a 1.50 ERA.So we can see the  upside to Burnett but i would like The Yankees to take their minds off of Burnett and look into Derek Lowe and a nice bat to protect A-Rod, Mark Teixeira maybe?

Yankees start free agent frenzy.

 

 The Yankees started off free agency with a bang.They offered CC Sabathia a 6 year $140million dollar contract and say they are preparing to make A.J Burnett and Derek Lowe offers as well.Steinbrenner says he is becoming more and more optimistic on are chances of getting 2 of these 3 pitchers.The Yankees said at the start of the off-season they would pursue starting pitching and they sure did live up to their word.They also acquired Nick Swisher from the White Sox for utility infielder Wilson Betemit and minor leuage pitchers Jeff marquez and Jhonny Nunez.We also sold darrel rasners contract to the japanese team Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles for 1 million dollars.
